I created and managed many websites since I was away from the whole blogging scene; yes, the last year or so. So what I did learn? Well, respectively, not to be lazy, and write lots of content for your sites. I think everyones goal when it comes to internet marketing is to get their sites to the top of Google, and other search engines. I don’t think anyone tries to rank their site low in the search engines on purpose; that’d be plain stupid, right? Well, to the point.
In order to have your site rank at the top of Google, what do you need? Well, backlinks from authority sites (and related niches) help a lot, but first and foremost, you need content. A website without content is virtually useless. With recent update to Google, websites are now being looked at more closely for unique, quality content. Shortly said, write a lot of unique, high quality content on your website (keyword rich obviously) and you’re going to see the results. And I’m not just saying this based on what I’ve read.
A few of my websites have tons of content (30 or so unique articles). I never did any sort of link building, and guess what? They rank high for decently competitive keywords, which in turn are driving me a fair amount of traffic.
My point? Don’t put all your time into link building (or other SEO tactics) and forgot about adding plenty of content to your page. You can write the content yourself, or can outsource it for pretty cheap. Be sure that the content is keyword rich, or else having content is virtually useless.
