Well, pretty tough question. It pretty much comes down to what your definition of programming is. Knowing some HTML, Javascript, and those kinds of web programming are pretty important in order to be a successful internet marketer and actually make money online. Having web programming skills are handy because you won’t need to hire someone to do your web design work every day you want to start a new venture, or even change up an old venture. HTML and Javascript are pretty basic, and definitely something you can learn on your own.
Now, then there’s software programming, and if you’re talking about that kind of programming, then it’s absolutely not necessary to know to make money online as an internet marketer. Making money online is kind of like being a salesperson. Do the majority of salespersons need to know how the product they are selling was built, inside and out? No, definitely not.
Let’s be honest with ourselves; no one can be good at EVERYTHING. People specialzies in areas. For example, I would say I specialized in internet marketing, but I’m absolutely clueless when it comes to product development. In other words, sure, I can sell products, but I don’t know anything about building the products. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily; with so many aspects of internet marketing, it’s impossible for one to be knowledgeable in every area. You need to pick a certain area, and become an expert at it.
So shortly said, unless you want to become a programmer, there’s really no point for, as an internet marketer, to learn about it in depth. If you’re curious about the basics, sure, go ahead and do some reading. But there’s no need to master the field, as it’s not something you will ever use as an internet marketer. I bet you that majority of the best internet markets in the world, the ones making money online like no tomorrow, don’t know diddly squat about programming.
