About Me

Who are you?
I’m Ali, and I’m an 18 year old blogger.
Is this your first blog?
Nope, not even close to it. I’ve been blogging and managing websites since the 9th grade. Over the years, I continously learned more and more, and as a result, shut down my older blogs, and began iBlogPlanet — my ultimate blog. I hope to incorporate everything I have learned here, and continue iBlogPlanet for years to come!
You’re so young — how can I trust your content?
I am young — correct. Although, I have taken reach ahead college classes, all of which were finance and business related. Sure, I may not be Warren Buffett, but I research before I speak (or type for that matter). All of the content on my blog is researched and well thought out. I do not simply post garbage on my blog. As for the internet marketing aspect – I’ve been doing this sort of work for almost 3 years now. Of course, 3 years isn’t anywhere close to how long some of the big internet marketers have been in the business. Then again, we all have to start somewhere, right?
Tell us a bit about yourself!
Alright, well, you can see me to the right. I was born in Iran, and moved to Canada when I was quite young. I grew up in Canada — loved it. Played hockey, soccer, and basketball — all comeptitively. As I hit high school, I started to come out of the sports to concentrate more on school (and friends). In March of 2008, I was hit with some news that upset me — I would be moving to California. Sure, California is great — hot weather, celebrities (haven’t seen any yet), and so on. Nonetheless, moving in high school sucks, and those who have experienced it can relate. I’m an open guy — don’t hesitate to ask me questions about myself.
Why do you blog?
I started learning about blogging about 3 years ago. My first site was pretty pathetic. I was just like a lot of the other beginners. I thought that riches was just a few days away, but was I wrong or what. Things didn’t go to great for me the first time around. Now, I’m back — for a 2nd shot at it. More experienced, wiser, adn a better blogger! I started for a number of reasons. First would be, I like it. I really like blogging — it’s like a hobby. The second one, was out of boredom. Moving was hard on me, and I obviously don’t have the same social network in California as I did in Canada. Thus, I try to keep myself occupied by blogging.
Do you agree with me? Disagree? Share your opinion!
Either way, I would love to hear what all my readers have to say. Whether you agree with what I say, or don’t, speak up! Just because I call myself a “Gooroo” (yes, I know it’s spelt “guru”) does not mean I am always right, right?
If you have ANY other questions, do not hesitate to contact me at through the contact form!

Behnam, I think it’s awesome that you’re on the ‘Net at age 17 doing what you love. This kind of opportunity was not available when I was 17, so why not take advantage of it? The ones who are successful in life are the ones who jump on opportunities, and learn as they go. Those are great qualities to have and you’re obviously not sitting around wasting them! Good job.
I think Gooroo is eye-catching and fun, and the pun is clear. If anyone gives you heck about it, they probably need to get a life (or their own blog ;~D
That’s why “Gooroo” is so perfect. You’re letting the world know, by the spelling you chose, that you’re being tongue-in-cheek but there’s also a kernel of your intentions in there. You are working your way toward eventual guru-hood in your chosen field. And you’re having fun with it. To me, the handle Gooroo reeks of fun.
I did a similar thing when I named a writing workshop of mine. I called it the Tantrick Writing Clinic. Obviously, I wasn’t qualified to teach sacred Tantric principles–but I could embrace some of those principles in a fun way. And it worked. People loved that workshop. And the name caught their curiosity. They wanted to know why it was spelled with a K.
I found your site while reading comments over at Tumblemoose. Your ID grabbed my curiosity and compelled me to come see what Gooroo was all about. I think it’s a clever marketing choice, as well as lots of fun.
Tumblemoose is another Web ID in the same vein. As soon as I saw it in the comments section over on Writing 101, I *had* to go find out what it meant. And now George and I are friends. I love that about the Internet!
hi my dear cousin
i’m jalal
i have started to reading your blog recently it’s interesting.
i will put my idea about your blog latter.
i hope can discuss with you in this
Thank you for your kind words
My parents have always told me the same thing — these opportunities were not around for them either when they were my age. Might as well take advantage of the opportunities available to me.
As for the nickname, thank you! I’m obviously no “guru” but hey, we all have to start somewhere.
I completely agree with you. Nothing wrong with having a little fun, right?
I also agree that ones “blogging name” can be a big marketing tool. For example:
Boring blogger name = Less chance of someone visiting
Interesting blogger name = More chance of someone visiting
Pretty simple when you think about it.
The internet is a great place to meet friends, business associates, and so on!
By the way, I just had a look at your blog, and the first thing that caught my eye was your trip to Niagara Falls — I used to live in Canada, and had been there many times. How did you like it?
